Harold Rosenbaum Receives 2014 Ditson Conductor’s Award

Soundbrush is thrilled to learn that Harold Rosenbaum, conductor of the New York Virtuoso Singers has been presented with the Ditson Conductor’s Award, an annual prize presented by Columbia University for contributions to the advancement of American music.

Mr. Rosenbaum and the NYVS released their 25th anniversary album in 2013 on Soundbrush Records. The  two disc set, featuring newly commissioned choral works by  twenty-five contemporary composers, is a testament to Mr. Rosenbaum’s commitment to contemporary choral music, as recognized by this award.

Later this year, The New York Virtuoso Singers and Mr. Rosenbaum will release Hilsen til Danmark (Greetings to Denmark), a collection of fifteen poems written in 1915 and set to music by composer Roger Davidson.
